About us
It all started with four young women whose hearts beat for the material clay and their enthusiasm for the speech «I wanna thank me.» by Snoop Dogg. Louisa, Marie, Lara and Céline met each other way back around 2016 at the ceramic workshop of the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and founded «I wanna thank me.» in 2020 as a collective space to create together, especially ceramic works.
How we play
They understand «I wanna thank me.» as a playground (or rather clayground) without rules, a space to do whatever they want. Their ceramic works range from designing functional objects to sculptures and to sculptural installations, from producing high-end products to playful objects that come with a hint of irony and humour. They love to work together as a quartet but also take the liberty of being artistically active in smaller constellations. What makes the collective strong is that they all work with ceramics in their own artistic / design oriented practice (and workplaces) and bring their different fields of expertise together to collaborate in «I wanna thank me.».
